The alternative to sewage disposal
Vacuum evaporators from KMU LOFT Cleanwater are the clever alternative to process water disposal. Vacuum distillation with downflow, forced circulation and vapour recompression enables efficient treatment of waste water. The application-specific plant recovers up to 98 % of the distillate.
This also eliminates the otherwise necessary and cost-intensive discharge permit. This is because the distillate quality is partly equivalent to demineralized water. The distillate can be returned to the process cycle and significantly reduces fresh water consumption.
Government requirements require efficient solutions
The official environmental objectives of the Water Framework Directive have been in force at European level since 23 October 2000. The aim of the project is to achieve good status for all groundwater and surface waters. Under restrictive conditions, companies are required to achieve the target values by 2021.
In order to protect European waters, it is particularly necessary to treat polluted wastewater. The wastewater limits are constantly being tightened and sharpened. Every wastewater discharge in Germany requires a water law permit.
Waste-water-free production makes controls, monitoring by the authorities and the aforementioned discharge permit in the truest sense of the word superfluous.
Sustainable resource management
Water scarcity and drought have a tremendous impact on our lives. While China, for example, already declared a water emergency in 2009, the first bottlenecks are also looming within Europe. A lack of precipitation will lead to problems with energy supply and, of course, with the supply of fresh water. Another very important motivation for purchasing a vacuum evaporator is based on environmental considerations.

Vacuum evaporators from KMU LOFT Cleanwater can be easily integrated into existing systems. They are therefore predestined for a closed production or water cycle. The direct return of the processed distillate significantly reduces the consumption of fresh water. Users not only save valuable fresh water but also recover valuable raw materials such as precious metals and oil from the concentrate.
The system components are also designed in such a way that a closed heat circuit ensures high efficiency and low energy consumption. The operating costs are usually 10, maximum 20 Euro per m³. Electricity consumption is around 50 kWh per m³ of wastewater. The fully automatic and self-cleaning wastewater treatment plants relieve the workload of the local staff.
